Seventh Annual International Competition for Abstract, Non-Figurative Art: "21x21"
The competition aims to showcase diverse artistic explorations and bring artists from around the world together.
Competition rules:
1. Each artist may submit only one work with exact dimensions of 21 x 21 cm. Acceptable substrates include cardboard, beer cardboard, and laminated canvas on cardboard with a thickness between 2 and 3 mm. There are no restrictions on painting technique. Works smaller or larger than 21 x 21 cm will not be accepted. The actual image may be smaller than 21 x 21 cm, but the size of the painting must not be. Works must not be framed or have a hanger on the back. Digital art created without the use of artificial intelligence and photographs is also accepted.
Please write the name of the work and sign it on the back , as the competition is anonymous!
This year, the competition will be held in two stages again:
1. Please register using the form below by November 28, 2025. To submit your entry, you must fill out the form in its entirety. We do not share personal information with third parties. Please register only one work! After an interim evaluation, if your work is approved, we will email you to confirm its acceptance into the competition. We will also provide the methods by which you can pay the participation fee and the address to which you should send your painting. Acceptance of works approved for exhibition and final judging will take place from November 28, 2025, to January 07, 2026.
2. Judging of the accepted works will take place from December 28, 2024, to January 7, 2025. All participants will receive the same online judging form as the jury so that we can announce the winners.
3. The participation fee is 40 EUR and is payable only by participants whose paintings have been accepted into the exhibition. This fee covers the costs of organizing the exhibition, publishing an exhibition catalog featuring each work, creating posters and advertising materials for the exhibition, and packaging for return mail.
4. The awards will be announced during the opening of the exhibition. The first prize is €300 and a solo exhibition at A Cube Contemporary. The second prize is €150. The participant prize is €200 and a solo exhibition at [a] Cube Contemporary.
5. The exhibition of the competition entries will open on January 21, 2026 and run until February 28, 2026.
6. The gallery does not take a commission on sales of works in the competition.
